Having practiced midwifery and breastfeeding support with mums and their families for over 10 years, I can tell you I absolutely love my job! I am passionate about helping mums and babies learn together how to breastfeed and settle into their new role as a mum. To be able to come home from “work” knowing that I have helped in strengthening a mother baby bond or that a mum can now breastfeed with a smile on her face and without any more pain, is priceless for me.
I have a strong belief in the importance of the mother and baby bond. I believe my job is to help both mother and baby intuitively learn their new roles together. By giving you the self belief and confidence to care and feed for your new little bundle.
Motherhood is both an art and a science, and many of us these days have never had the opportunity to simply sit and watch our families or friends feeding and caring for their babies. I have a real passion and belief in the importance of postnatal care and support for all mothers. This is often a time when extra help and assistance is needed. Most new mums benefit from having a friendly, knowledgeable midwife to be able to come and visit within the comfort of their own home. I offer support and care along with practical guidance to help you learn how to settle in to the first few weeks at home with baby.
Often labour may have been long and difficult and you are finding it hard to get out and about in those first few days. I can offer a personalised midwife home visit where I can do a top-to-toe baby check as well as a postnatal mother check to make sure you are healthy after your birth experience.
I do not believe that a ‘one size fits all’ solution will work for every mother and baby. I base my care on an individualised approach tailored to your specific needs.
